Fall News 2011
Our department welcomes Denise Davila to the role of ESL teacher at Princeton High School. Denise had served as our Bilingual aide at the high school for seven years while also working towards her Masters in ESL. We welcome Emily Rodgriguez, a recent graduate of the University of Vermont as our new Bilingual aide.
K-8 Bilingual Liaison
Tracey Goldberg, based at Community Park, serves as the district K-8 Bilingual Liaison. In this capacity she meets with families in our Latino community and organizes parent nights.
Spring News
Mrs. Bach and her Johnson Park students created their annual "wax museum" and invited parents to tour the museum. Students became important Americans. This event wrapped up their study of people who helped create America.
Summer News
LEAP . . .
Learning English Across Programs
LEAP is a district funded summer program open to all K-5 students enrolled in the ESL/Bilingual Program in the Princeton Schools. The classes, taught by Princeton teachers meet daily for four weeks from 8:30 - 12:00 during the summer. In the summer 2011 classes met at Johnson Park and there was an enrollment of 14 students.
LEAP is an enrichment program with emphasis on students' continuing to build English proficiency. Thanks to Mrs. Lavado for teaching in LEAP and once again making it a successful program.
