How do I apply to be a substitute?
Substitute Pay Rates
$85/day for Substitute Teachers
$90/day for Substitute Teachers with a Four Year College Degree
$95/day for candidates holding a Instructional Teaching Certificate
$175/day for Substitute Nurses
Qualifications for a New Jersey Substitute Certificate
- Minimum of 60 Undergraduate Credits From An Accredited United States College
- Able to pass a New Jersey Public School Criminal History Check
*NOTE: A copy of your clearance letter must be presented to the County Superintendent in order to obtain your substitute certificate. Please submit a copy of your clearance letter to the Personnel Office as soon as you receive it, your letter will be mailed to your home address.
